LiveShift is operated by LiveShift Pty Ltd (ABN 62 702 911 500), which is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we apply them.
Security work involves handing over more than most services ask for — a licence number, a bank account, and your location while you are on site. This policy is written to be read before you do that, not after.
2What we collect
Depending on how you use the platform:
check_circleidentity and contact details — your name, date of birth, email address, mobile number, suburb and postcode
check_circle
licence and compliance details — your security licence number, the state or territory that issued it, its expiry, and the result of a check against the issuing register
check_circlework records — the shifts you posted or accepted, when you clocked on and off, and incident reports you file
check_circlepayment details — the account payments are made to or from, and the record of each payment
check_circlelocation — while you have availability turned on, and while you are on a shift, as described below
check_circletechnical data — your device, browser, IP address and the pages you opened, which is what keeps a session signed in and shows us when something is broken
check_circleanything you send us — support messages, disputes, and what we replied
3Where it comes from
Mostly from you, when you register, complete your profile, or work a shift.
Some comes from elsewhere: a licence register when we verify a licence, a hirer when it reports what happened on a shift, and our payment provider when it confirms a payment cleared.
4Why we collect it
We collect it to:
check_circlematch you to shifts near you, and show a hirer who is arriving
check_circleverify that a licence is current, which is the thing the whole network rests on
check_circlerecord what was worked, and pay for it
check_circlekeep people safe on site, and respond when the SOS control is used
check_circlemeet record-keeping obligations that apply to us or to a hirer
check_circleanswer support requests and resolve disputes
check_circlefind and fix faults in the platform
5Location
Location is collected while you have availability turned on, so the board can be ordered by what is near you, and during a shift you have accepted, so arrival at and departure from the site can be recorded.
It is not collected when availability is off and you are not on a shift. You control the underlying permission in your device settings and can withdraw it at any time — with it withdrawn, matching by distance and automatic clock-on will not work.
6Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information to:
check_circlethe hirer of a shift you accept — your name, photo, licence status and arrival, and nothing else on your account
check_circleidentity and licence verification services, to run the checks described above
check_circlepayment and banking providers, to make and receive payments
check_circletechnology providers that host the platform and send our email and SMS, under contracts that limit them to that purpose
check_circlea regulator, court or law enforcement agency, where we are required or authorised by law
check_circlea buyer, if the business or part of it is sold, under the same obligations that apply to us
7We do not sell it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it to anyone for their own direct marketing.
8Where it is held
Personal information is held in Australia. Where a provider we use stores or processes it overseas, we will name the countries in this policy before that starts, and we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9Keeping it secure
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access inside LiveShift is limited to the people whose job needs it, and that access is logged.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
10How long we keep it
We keep personal information while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need it to resolve a dispute, to enforce our agreements, or to meet a record-keeping obligation that applies to shift, payment or incident records.
When none of those apply any more, we destroy it or de-identify it.
11Getting to it, and correcting it
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Most of it you can see and change yourself on your profile.
Ask us using the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days, and we will tell you why if we cannot give you what you asked for.
12Cookies
We set a cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the platform to work, and it is not used to track you across other sites.
If we add anything beyond that — analytics, or advertising measurement — it will be listed here before it is turned on.
13Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us using the contact details below and we will investigate.
If you are not satisfied with how we deal with it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
14Changes to this policy
We will publish any new version here with the date it takes effect, and tell account holders before that date.
