Read the rules for using LiveShift.

The agreement between you and LiveShift when you use the platform to find security work, or to have it done.

1Who these terms are between

They are between you and LiveShift Pty Ltd (ABN 62 702 911 500), the operator of the LiveShift platform, which is based in Melbourne, Victoria. “LiveShift”, “we” and “us” in these terms mean that company.

“You” means whoever uses the platform. Where a clause applies to only one side of the market it says so: a hirer is whoever posts a shift, and a worker is whoever accepts one.

2What LiveShift does, and what it does not

LiveShift is a marketplace. It publishes shifts, matches them to licensed workers nearby, records what was worked, and moves the money afterwards.

The work itself is agreed between the hirer that posts a shift and the worker that accepts it. LiveShift is not a party to that engagement, does not supervise the work, and does not direct how it is carried out.

Nothing on the platform is professional advice about your own obligations — licensing, tax, insurance and work health and safety remain yours to meet.

3Who can use it

To hold an account you must:

be at least 18 years old
have the right to work in Australia
hold, and keep holding, a current security licence for every state or territory you accept work in, where the work requires one
give us details that are true, and correct them when they change

4Your account

One account per person. Do not let anyone else use yours, and do not use anyone else's — the licence checks, the shift record and the payments all rest on the account being the person who turned up.

Keep your password to yourself and tell us straight away if you think somebody else has it. We can suspend an account while we look into a report of misuse.

5Licences and verification

We check the licence details you give us against the issuing authority where that check is available to us, and we show the result to the hirers you work for.

A check tells you what the register said at the time it ran. It is not a guarantee, and it does not replace a hirer's own obligation to satisfy itself about who it is engaging.

If your licence is suspended, cancelled, or has a condition added to it, tell us before you accept another shift.

6Posting and accepting shifts

A posted shift sets out the site, the hours, the rate and what the work involves. Posting it is an offer to engage somebody on those terms; accepting it forms an agreement between the hirer and the worker on those terms.

Post shifts you intend to go ahead with, and accept shifts you intend to work. Cancellations, late changes and no-shows are recorded against the account that caused them, and the cancellation terms shown on the shift when it was accepted are the ones that apply.

7Payments and fees

The rate on a shift and the fee LiveShift charges are both shown before it is confirmed. We do not change either after the fact.

Once a shift is completed and its record is settled, payment is released to the worker through the platform. Where we hold money between those two points, we hold it on your behalf and not as our own.

You are responsible for your own tax, including GST if you are registered for it. If we pay an amount in error we may recover it from a later payment, and we will tell you when we do.

8How to behave on the platform

Do not:

misrepresent your identity, licence, qualifications or availability
work a shift under someone else's account, or send somebody else in your place
harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone you meet through the platform
interfere with the platform, or try to reach data that is not yours
use the platform for anything unlawful

9Safety and emergencies

The SOS control raises our operations team. It is not an emergency service and it does not contact one for you.

10What you put on the platform

You keep ownership of what you upload — your photo, your licence documents, your incident notes. You give us permission to store and use it for the purpose you gave it to us for: running the platform, showing a hirer who is arriving, and keeping the records the law requires us to keep.

11Availability

We aim to keep the platform running, and we will not promise that it never stops. Features change, maintenance happens, and networks fail.

Where a shift is under way and the platform is not available, the engagement between the hirer and the worker stands on its own terms. Tell us what happened and we will reconcile the record.

12Liability

Nothing here excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, LiveShift is not liable for loss arising from the conduct of a hirer or a worker, from work performed at a site, or from a decision you made on information the platform showed you.

Where our liability can be limited rather than excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

13Suspension and closing an account

You can close your account at any time. Shifts you have already accepted, and payments already owed either way, survive it.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that loses the licence the work requires, or that puts somebody at risk. Unless we are prevented from doing so, we will tell you why.

14Changes to these terms

We will publish the new version here with the date it takes effect, and tell account holders before that date. If you keep using the platform afterwards, the new version applies.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
